About

Main Street Morgantown is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization dedicated to revitalizing and preserving the downtown. Our mission is to ensure the downtown Morgantown area's continuing economic vitality, the historic integrity of its structures, and status as an economic indicator for all of Monongalia County. Main Street Morgantown imagines a bustling, vibrant downtown with excellent pedestrian amenities, unique retail shops and restaurants, and historically rehabilitated buildings. In addition, we picture community members chatting with neighbors and friends at various festivals and events that would draw thousands of people annually to downtown. Downtown is home to many dining, financial, entertainment, professional, shopping, lodging, and other service-related businesses. It also offers a significant historic attraction for the community and tourists. Our 'Main Street Approach' focuses on creating a supportive environment for businesses and ensuring business owners, especially those with fewer than 20 employees have the resources needed to thrive. Our approach also helps strengthen local economies by stimulating consumer demand by marketing the downtown and community events and activities.
